It may seem as if the world as we know it has come to a sudden stop. But we’ve found, from the enquiries we’ve been receiving, that people still need to buy, sell and let properties. And they are window-shopping while in self-isolation. Some people are in situations where they need to move quickly, and others want to take advantage of the all-time low interest rates. All want to be ready to react once restrictions have been lifted and lockdown ends.
House Fox wants to help those people who do need to move to do it as safely and as easily as possible. So we’ve introduced virtual valuations. We can value your home accurately, from our own homes, without the need to visit you. – enabling you to get your property on the market during isolation at a time when we know thousands of people are searching for their next home.
How do virtual valuations work?
In order for us to carry out a virtual valuation you will need to send five or six pictures of your home. These would be preferably of the front of the property, the lounge, kitchen, dining room, garden, and any other features like a conservatory etc. We’ll also need to know your street address, house number and postcode, the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and reception rooms. One of our experienced sales staff will then value your home using state-of-the-art software and local data. His experience and knowledge of the surrounding area will help him provide a realistic figure for the market value of your home. After the initial valuation has been completed Niki, or Tim, will call you to talk through the property in detail.
We’ll also be able to offer advice, suggestions and tips on what, if anything, you might consider doing to prepare your property before listing.
Virtual Valuations are free, and with no obligation on your part to list your home.

What happens next?
Once you have decided to market your home, Simon James, our professional property photographer will contact you with advice on how to take professional-looking photographs and a video walk-through of the property. Simon will process your images and edit your videos to ensure that your property looks amazing when it goes online.
Check out 9 Scarf Drive, Locking Parklands, BS24 7LT on our website to see an example of how well this works.
Why is good photography so important?
Take a look at these facts:
- Buyers spend 60% of their time looking at the photographs when viewing online
- 83% of buyers choose to view, OR not to view based on the pictures they see.
- Great photography gets your property 61% MORE VIEWS online
- Properties listed with good photography sell 32% FASTER on average than those without
- Well photographed properties sell for almost 50% NEARER the asking price
What about floorplans?
It’s likely that your property has been listed before, in which case, we will be able to find existing plans online. In the rare cases where we are unable to find floorplans we will guide you in providing room dimensions that we can use to draw up detailed plans.
